Sean & friend

Sean and Ritchie. They got to know each other early this year at CR centre
for their tuition every Saturday.

Saying bye to "Hello Kitty" friends

I've decided to let them go. Any taker out there ?

Having fun at the playground

The haze

Took these pictures while travelling along Kranji in the early afternoon.
Visibility is rather poor, can't see the buildings in JB clearly.

Fishing

Getting excited about the fishing trip and very delighted with favourite "Pokemon" bag.

Waiting patiently for the fish to bite the bait.

Still waiting.....

Here it is.....

At last, got a fish.

New haircut

Sean saw Charles nice "spiky, standing" hairdo and for once he requested to visit a hair saloon for a haircut, which for as long as I can remember, he just hated the thought of having a hair cut. And at that moment, I spared no thought and said "Sure, let's go for it now".

At the Singapore Flyer

A week after visiting Marina Barrage, we were invited by Vin and Bel to the Singapore Flyer on Sat, 16 May, followed by sumptous dinner at Seafood Paradise.

Thanks to Vin and Bel that we had a fun and relaxing outing.
Certainly looking for more...

Marina Barrage

Thanks to Helen, we had lunch at Pariss, Marina Sq. on
Saturday, 9 May. Thereafter, we went to Marina Barrage.

An afternoon with dear Aunt Maria

Sean's mouth was filled with vanilla ice-cream.

Sean couldn't help giggling about his messy mouth

A ride on the "coin operated motorbike" complete his fun !

It was one of those "routine" Saturday where I have to take Sean for lessons in the morning and afternoon. When Maria sms me for a "meet & catch up" session, I was looking forward to it. Since her return from overseas, we hardly catch up with each other.
We had a nice chat, dessert and some window shopping together at PPC. When Sean's lesson ended, we proceed to Mac for some coffee and ice cream, followed by some shopping downtown. From town we took a bus to ma's home. It was like walking down memory lane when the bus passed by those familiar roads and trees along the way and of course some old and new buildings, plus those nice, old and beautiful houses. Ooh...how I missed my old home in HV!

Birthday celebration & cookies baking

We are proud to say that we baked these. Yay !

Charles stayed with us during the December school break. He requested for cookies baking lesson and I gladly obliged. He enjoyed the baking process very much and was planning what to bake next. On the next day, it was Sean eighth birthday so we had a small birthday celebration. Although it's just a small celebration, they were having a fun-filled time !

The "Suan Pan Zi" team

Maria videoed the joy of making hakka "suan pan zi". Mum, Lia, Maria, Johnny, Lois, Soo Fong and Nicholas were having a fun time preparing the ingredients and forming the shape of abacus from the dough. Is it called the dough? I'm not sure. Anyway, I can see that each of them was doing their part and enjoying it.

Trying out a new recipe to me is always mysterious and exciting. However, it is also challening because most of us would want the best "end result". Though the "end result" may be important, but the entire process of preparations and getting into action is far more enjoyable, satisfying and perhaps therapeutic. I always find it really therapeutic especially when I do baking, the lingering smell from the oven would lift me up.

Click to view video & picture below, hip hip hooray to the "SuanPanZi" team !

Children's day

Today is Children's day.

I wish all the children in the world are happy, healthy,
receive lots of love, hugs and kisses from their parents.
At the same time, learn from mistakes, embrace challenges,
self-driven and believe in themselves.

I wish parents love their child as they are and not have
unrealistic expectations of their child. Teach them well
and lead the way. Give children support and guidance.
Always listen to their child and attend to his/her
concerns patiently.  I know, I know, it's easier said than done.

Plants

I wanted to throw the pot and soil away as my previous plant withered.
Sean suggested throwing some seeds so that he could have his "fruit
tree". I was cutting some lemons and was thinking to myself,
may be I should throw these seeds into the pot. It was a pleasant
surprise that after some time, I realise that "germination" actually
took place ! Now I can't wait to see my first lemon !
